Songkran – Cambodian/Lao/Thai New Year: they have a big water fight. Buddhists go to the monastery to feed the monks and clean the Buddhist shrines, and in many cities the Buddhas are paraded and people throw water on them, which is how the water fight started. Some people bring a handful of dirt to their local monastery to repay any dirt they may have walked out that past year. Cambodia has traditional games to play.
